I love teaching. I really do. But teaching my own children is a bit of a challenge since they like to clown me and make pretend they don’t understand something. Weekends are spent browsing Pinterest looking for ways to make learning fun. While they offer a lot of great tools, my favorite are the ones I received from Gigamic.

Making Learning Fun With Gigamic

Up until recently, I’d never even heard of the toy company. Gigamic has some pretty awesome games that are all learning based–but not in the traditional flash card kind of learning. They have all these great games that force kids to think and learn while having fun.

Fun For All Ages

We were gifted two VERY different games for our very different girls and both of the girls love them.

Specific

This game is so much fun. I honestly didn’t think it would be as much fun as it was. This game is designed to teach kids about omnivores, herbivores and carnivores across the species. Prior to us playing, Mini wasn’t well-versed on these three categories. My husband kicked our butts at the game the first time we played but Mini keeps getting better and better as well as more familiar with the species.

Katamino Family

This was the second game we were gifted and I’m not sure who loves this more! It’s for ages 3+ so naturally abc loves it. But more importantly it has different levels and options making it something that all of us can play. This is a strategy game that helps to teach abc about patterns, colors, matching and more. ABC can work on puzzles herself or compete with her sister as well. I love the 3-D building challenge as does my husband.

Bringing Back Traditional Family Fun

In a super digital age where phones, tablets and tv’s have taken over it’s nice to be able to sit down with age appropriate games that not only teach lessons but old school fun as well! If it weren’t for the Atlanta Women’s Expo I attended I would have missed out on all this fun!
